FAQ's

FAQ'S

Can we assist with the Airline ticket?
You will book your flight independently.  Note: It is too early to book airlines for the best pricing. Once I book my airline ticket, I will forward the information to you.  Ticket pricing will range from $2,000 economy - $4,000 premium.

You'll need to catch a flight from a major US airport to Velana International Airport (MLE) in the Maldives. Many international airlines offer flights to the Maldives with layovers in cities like Dubai, Doha, Istanbul, or Singapore. There are good options to fly to the Maldives, including Virgin Atlantic, Qatar Airways, Emirates, and Singapore Airlines.

When booking, use the name exactly as it is on your passport.  If you need assistance booking, I can assist you.

Do I need travel insurance?

Yes, all travelers must have emergency medical insurance that covers emergency evacuation and repatriation up to at least $200,000. Please bring a copy of your travel insurance with you. We also strongly recommend purchasing an all-inclusive plan that covers cancellation/interruption insurance.

To fully enjoy travel insurance's benefits, you must get it within 10- 21 days (depending on the company) of the first payment made for your trip. If you do not, you may lose some extra benefits.

For your convenience, below are options for you to review.

Are any inoculations required?

Please consult with your doctor for up-to-date medical travel information and recommendations. To see recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

What are the passport and visa requirements?

All countries require a valid passport (with a minimum validity of 6 months). Contact your local embassy or consulate for the most up-to-date visa requirements. It is your responsibility to have the correct travel documentation. Visa requirements for your trip will vary depending on where you are from and where you are going. While we provide the following information in good faith, it is vital that you check the information yourself and understand that you are fully responsible for your own visa requirements.

  • You do not need to apply for a visa before you travel to the Maldives on holiday. On arrival, all tourists of all nationalities can receive a 30-day visa free of charge.

Will there be wifi available?

For an additional fee of $25.  Note: In some areas, Wi-Fi may be accessible, while in others, the connection might not be as reliable. However, I encourage you to contemplate whether you truly need a constant connection to the digital world during your journey. Sometimes, embracing the opportunity to unplug and immerse yourself fully in the present moment can lead to a more profound and spiritual experience. Nature and travel offer a chance to connect with the world on a different level, free from the distractions of the online realm. So, perhaps the better question is not about the availability of Wi-Fi, but whether you're open to disconnecting and allowing yourself to be fully present and engaged in the journey itself."

Are gratuities included?

No, gratuities are not included.  We will talk about recommendations later.

How many people are expected on this retreat?

This will be a small group of only 18 people.

What if I don't know anyone going on the Retreat?

A phenomenal group of like-minded people will surround you. A close-knit community will quickly develop and last beyond our time together!  Below is a video from our last Yacht adventure.

What to bring

What to Pack:

You will receive a packing list 90 days prior.

Documents To Pack:

  • Passport / With photocopies

  • Travel Insurance

Do I need to bring my yoga mat?

Yes, however, I am thinking more of a yoga towel.  Something you can easily carry for that moment of inspiration. We will talk in more detail as we get closer to the date.

Spending Money
Every traveler is different, and therefore, spending money requirements will vary. Please consider your own spending habits when it comes to allowing for drinks, shopping, and tipping.

  • You should be aware that to purchase products or services on a credit card, a fee of 5%-10% usually applies. Do not rely on credit or debit cards as your only source of money; a combination of US dollar cash and cards is best.

  • You should also be aware that 16% T-GST and 10% Service Charge apply to most transactions in the Maldives.

  • Always take more rather than less; you don't want to spoil the trip by constantly feeling short of funds.

  • We do not recommend bringing traveler's cheques as they are difficult to change in the country.

EMERGENCY FUND
Please also ensure you have access to at least an additional USD $200 (or equivalent) as an 'emergency' fund to be used when circumstances outside our control (e.g., a natural disaster or an increase in gas prices). This is a rare occurrence but it can happen!
